Cargo Net for Fiat 500 500C

The reviews saying that this part does not fit North American Fiat 500s at all, are only half true. The instructions show two mounting positions: one is vertical, right behind the seat backs, and the other is horizontal, covering the floor of the trunk. It appears that only the vertical mounting position is possible in North American Fiat 500s; the clip points for the horizontal position do not seem to exist in my 2013 500c Abarth. Installation requires a socket wrench to install the two clips provided. Each installs by removing a factory screw set into the side wall of the trunk, and reinstalling it so as to also hold the clip.

It's not obvious from the photo, but the net is folded over one of the long edges, so that when it's mounted in the vertical position, cargo can be put into it from the top like a hammock. So, in this position, it's handy for holding loose objects that would otherwise be loose in the trunk. But it would also have been nice to be able to use it to hold cargo against the floor of the trunk, and that doesn't seem possible.

By the way, if you have the Beats factory audio option, the subwoofer housing will make it trickier (but not impossible) to get a wrench onto the screw you need to loosen on that side. Consider borrowing an extender for the wrench.
